♠︎What we cover

What Does Casino Rules Cover?

The site is a reference for the rules of casino games: blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat, craps and slots, plus the card game Casino itself. Each guide explains how a round runs, what every bet pays and which rules change the cost of playing.

Alongside the game rules there are three smaller groups of pages. The odds pages show how a house edge is worked out and compare the games side by side. The pages about being in a casino cover chips, etiquette and the unwritten rules at the tables. The pages about Great Britain explain the minimum age, how to check a gambling licence and how bonus wagering works under the current rules.

Casino Rules is a reference site, not a casino: there are no accounts and no bets. No page claims a system will make money. None will.

♦︎Who runs it

Who Publishes Casino Rules?

Casino Rules is published by Isaac Roberts, a private individual based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. A small editorial team writes and checks the pages. They sign as a team.

Pages carry the team name instead of individual bylines because a rule or a figure on this site should stand on its source and its calculation, not on who typed it. Every page names its sources at the foot, and the maths behind the figures is set out on our page about how we calculate the odds, so anyone can check the work for themselves.

♣︎How pages are made

How Are the Pages Researched and Checked?

Game rules are compared with published rule sets and with the Gambling Commission’s technical standards. Legal points come from the Gambling Commission and legislation.gov.uk. Odds and house edges are calculated from the payouts and the number of possible outcomes.

Where British casinos differ from one another, a page gives the common version and says that the rule varies, rather than presenting one casino’s house rule as the law. A rule that changes the house edge is shown with its effect, so a reader can judge a table by the sign at the end of it.

Each figure either has a source marked in the text or a calculation shown next to it. When a rule changes, such as a new limit set by the regulator, the affected pages are updated and the date at the top of each page moves with it. Our editorial policy covers corrections and the standards in more detail.

Some pages use illustrations of casino objects, such as a dealing shoe or a stack of cards on a coloured backdrop. These images are generated for the site, and each carries a small “AI” badge so nobody mistakes them for photographs of a real casino.

♠︎How the site is funded

How Is the Site Funded?

The site earns a commission when a reader opens an account with a casino through a link on our homepage or on the comparison of UK online casinos. The knowledge pages, the game rules, the odds and the UK guides, carry no casino links at all.

Only casinos that hold an active remote licence from the Gambling Commission are listed. Their order on the comparison page comes from four criteria with fixed weights, published on that page: how light the welcome-offer terms are, the range of table games, the fastest listed withdrawal and the choice of payout methods. A casino cannot change its place by paying more.

Commission never changes a player’s terms. Links to casinos open in a new tab and are marked as sponsored for search engines. If you would rather not use them, every casino listed can be reached directly, and the rules on this site work the same at any licensed table.

♦︎Who it is for

Who Is Casino Rules For?

The site is for adults who want to understand a game before they play it, whether at a table in a British casino or online. Gambling is for over-18s only, and nothing here is aimed at anyone younger.

Many readers arrive with a single question: what a blackjack pays, why roulette has a zero, or what a wagering requirement means in pounds. The pages answer that question near the top and then go into the detail for anyone who wants it. Others use the site to compare two versions of a game and see which one costs less to play.

If gambling stops being something you enjoy, our safer gambling page lists the tools that every licensed operator must offer and the free, confidential support available in the UK, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

♣︎Getting in touch

How Can You Get in Touch?

Write to [email protected] if you spot a rule that looks wrong, a figure that does not add up or a licence that has changed. Our contact page explains what helps us check a report quickly.

Corrections are welcome from players, dealers and anyone who works with the games. A report that names the page, the sentence and the source you are relying on is the quickest to check, and confirmed errors are fixed on the page itself.
